Between 1996 and 2000, whilst also working on my 800 page graphic novel ‘One For Sorrow’ (available from www.lulu.com/spotlight/leethacker – plug, plug!), I wrote and recorded twelve albums on a Fostex multi-tracker (look it up!). No digital recording in those days! I was in my early thirties and somehow managed to draw 200 pages and record 24 songs each year for four years whilst also working full time as a primary school teacher and socialising (okay, ‘partying’!) every weekend. After 25 years, I’ve finally decided to make these songs public. This ‘debut album’ entitled ‘He’ includes my first efforts at programming a drum machine, multi-tracking and all of the instruments (two guitar tracks and a bass track) are played - rather primitively, it has to be said - by me. The ‘singing’ is also my fault.
